In this installment of the Zine Scene, we’re going to look at all four issues of my favorite short-lived UFO mag, Alien Worlds, published out of the UK in 2008. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, I was able to complete my collection recently, so I thought I’d share my thoughts with you.
A 2006 interview with Stuart Miller by Paul Kimball
Through a Fractured Glass Darkly: The Facts in the Strange Case of Whitley Strieber (Part 1) (Part 2)
Archives for the Unexplained has back issues available very affordably. Shipping costs (from Sweden) may seem high, but their prices on these mags and all their other books are really very reasonable, so it tends to balance out!
Great review! 2008 seems very late for a hard-copy UFO periodical start-up. Is Alien Worlds the last of such publications, or have there been more recent non-digital start-ups?
In your wide survey of UFO zines, have you ever come across one called Caveat Emptor?

I think “Open Skies” (which is a website? maybe?) had a very short-lived newsstand mag in the last few years. Not sure though!

The closest I’ve managed to find is a book by Nick Pope, Open Skies, Closed Minds.

Doh! I meant Open Minds magazine! Looks like it was around in 2012–copies are on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Open-Minds-Magazine-August-September/dp/B009DH8PMQ)
Or, actually UNavailable! that’s what it looked like, any way!
