The Janos People: Part 1

Is it an abduction tale? A contactee story? A little bit of both? Sure, why not! Over the course of the past couple weeks this has become my one of my favorite UFO books- The Janos People: A Close Encounter of the Fourth Kind by Frank Johnson. Today, we begin our exploration of this book in one of our rare (very rare) two part episodes.

  1. As always I am glad you are doing the reading so we don’t have to! Something that jumps out at me is that this book was released only a few short years after the TV movie based on the Hill story. Curious if that plays into your view on the book as well? Also, the statement that an adult’s recollection is no more or less reliable than a 5 year old’s was an unexpected moment of clarity in the pantheon of UFO books.

  2. I don’t disbelieve this story, but it does not make sense that people from Earth went to space and became a new civilization. I believe there are humans out there. who originated on their planets, and they came here—and still do—and we came from them. So I must say: the Janos people’s explanation of their Earthly origin does not seem legit to me.
